DOUBLE THE MANUFACTURING CAPACITY UNDER A NEW BRAND NAME BOWMAN REALIGNS 3D DIVISION WITH GROWING CUSTOMER DEMAND

Leading innovator of bearings and components, Bowman International, has realigned its production volume 3D printing division to better meet growing customer demand, with a series of brand, customer support and manufacturing capacity improvements.

As 3D printing becomes more widely recognised as a production method rather than just a prototyping solution, Bowman has more than doubled the manufacturing capacity of its Oxfordshire based laboratory with the addition of two further state-of-the-art printing machines. One is the latest multi jet fusion (MJF) powder bed printer from global leader, HP, and the other is a fused deposition modelling (FDM) machine from Ultimaker.

This investment in machinery offers Bowman’s team faster and leaner production processes and the ability to broaden its printing material portfolio to better serve industries that require specific performance characteristics for their components.

With the ability to manufacture so much more, Bowman has appointed a new highly experienced sales manager, Martin Jarvis, to support its growing customer base, with additional manpower added in the laboratory too.

To reflect these drivers for growth, Bowman has also announced a name change and refreshed brand appearance for its 3D division. A move that will see Bowman Additive Production, become Bowman 3D.

“Rebranding to Bowman 3D aligns us more clearly with our vision to expand our service offering within the design and manufacturing of complex polymer parts,” says Ben Chadwick, Business Unit Manager of Bowman 3D. “Increasing our production capacity within powder bed technologies, alongside expanding into new technologies and materials is a positive step towards our goal of being the go to solutions provider in the field of production volume 3D printing.”

The new name will be brought to life by a refreshed brand identity – a change that is being rolled out throughout the Bowman International Group.

Paul Mitchell, Managing Director for Bowman International comments: “For our 3D division in particular, refreshing our brand identity will help realign our offering in what is a rapidly evolving and highly digitised marketplace.

“We are one of the most established providers of production volume 3D printing and were an early advocate of MJF technology. We are proud to say that we were there at the beginning of the production volume 3D printing movement, but in a young and ambitious ecosystem, we must continually review and improve how we communicate with the market, to improve customer experience.

“Bowman 3D is a growing team of talented specialists, and we are confident that our continued investment in the latest technologies, the best people and tailored branding will enable us to maintain our position as a market leader for production volume 3D printed components.”
